At The Parrish Collection, we believe that being environmentally responsible is part of our job.
To be successful we must meet the needs of the present without compromising the welfare of future generations. This responsibility is even more magnified when you live on an small island. We are committed to developing sustainable business practices by making changes for the better and continuing to improve our services, facilities, and processes.
The Parrish Collection has been a locally owned business for over 25 years, with all our operations taking place on the island of Kauai. We are based here because we appreciate our remarkable surroundings: tropical green mountains, blue Pacific waters, and clean crisp air. We take our responsibility seriously to reduce our impact on the environment. It is simply the right thing to do.
Our commitment extends not only to how we operate our business and maintain our properties, but how we all live our lives. Here is part of an ever expanding list of what we do to live up to our commitment:
- Recycle paper, newspaper and cardboard as well as glass, cans and plastic in all offices
- Use a water delivery service versus small plastic water bottles in all offices
- Buy locally as much as possible versus shipping items from Mainland
- Maintain paper, glass and can recycling in all of our island vacation homes
- Use environmentally friendly cleaning products when and wherever possible
- Use recycled paper products for office stationery, business forms, etc.
- Convert as many lights as possible to Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs
By continually looking for ways to expand this list, we hope to build a healthy balance between our business goals, environmental responsibilities, resource efficiencies and the well being of our island home.
